Phil’s Sub-Contracting Business was booming
Phil started his business 15 years ago and he’s been working steadily ever since. He knows how to do great work and people come back again and again. So when his long-time client referred him into a San Diego School district job, Phil was ready to meet their needs and do a great job.
The regulations came as a shock
Phil had no idea he’d need to comply with State and Federal prevailing wage, Davis Bacon, Service Contracts, certified payroll and a myriad of other job-specific wage determination complexities.
With all the paperwork he was never going to have time to actually do the job he was hired to do.
How We Helped:
We met with Phil to learn some more about the project’s scope and details. Once we got a handle on the types of work that he and his team would be performing, we were able to jump in and help out right away. We researched and outlined all the project details and then spent some time educating and training Phil and his staff on requirements that they would now need to consider.
Phil realized he’d need help ongoing to handle all of the extra work a prevailing wage project creates, so we provided staff for weekly and monthly support.
Now Phil can sleep better at night knowing that his job will meet all prevailing wage requirements and that when the next project comes time to bid, they have the foundation in place to be successful.
